Before opening Apothecary Beauty in 2011, owner Francine Collora spent 15 years travelling the US, selling well known brands such as Md Skincare, Dermalogica, bareMinerals and many more...


During this time, Francine learned the importance of individuality in beauty, but grew increasingly frustrated that the entire shopping experience was geared toward what the industry felt the next trend should be, rather than what really worked for the individual. Beauty was being dictated to the Manufacture.


With that in mind, Apothecary Beauty Boutique was born in October 2011, offering over 35 unique brands, in skincare, make-up and body, as well as a full suite of beauty services such as waxing and skin care. Francine’s vision was to take the guesswork out of hunting for the perfect product, or selecting the right facial for a particular skin type by offering expert, individualized service. Now entering its 3rd year of business, the Apothecary Beauty team has grown to include experienced and creative makeup artists and estheticians that are knowledgeable, friendly and eager to help clients achieve their beauty goals. The expert staff at Apothecary Beauty test-drives every product and service to understand whether or not it will meet a client’s expectations. The message is simple to all women: You’re beautiful already. It’s not about changing how you look right now, it’s about enhancing the beautiful, individual features you possess already. Celebrating the customer’s vision of beauty.


This is about you, the customer, your lifestyle and what you find beautiful. In this day and age, it can be hard for small businesses to compete with online retailers and large department stores. Francine’s vision of listening to customers, and serving their needs above her own has enabled Apothecary Beauty to build a loyal customer base, and the business has grown year over year. Francine and the Apothecary Team is an active member of the business community, serving on the Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce's Marketing Roundtable, the Health & Wellness Committee and the Palos Verdes Street Fair & Music Festival Committee. She seeks out partner businesses near her store to implement promotions that benefit both businesses. She works with local women to host events for their friends and family, Apothecary is involved in supporting local nonprofit organizations including the Center for Learning Unlimited and Walk with Sally.
